Letter from your 55th Reunion Chairman

September 29, 2011

Dear 1956 CHS Committee Members,

The reunion weekend was fabulous from beginning to end. Your planning was evident in every detail. From the hotel, the Golf Tournament, Friday night social, Saturday luncheon, class program “Walking Down Memory Lane”, Comedy Fashion Show, memorabilia, posters, and wasn’t the BBQ something else?

Jacqueline Wilson, thank you for taking on the registration task, and for the many times you welcomed us into your home to hold class planning meetings.  And you, in that doubled breasted suit in the Comedy Fashion Show.  Thanks!

Dick Rapier, thank you for the website.  It was so well done and wonderfully informative and fun. And, just for you attending the reunion when you have such a busy schedule.  We really appreciate all your hard work keeping up the CHS website and for the ten years of your dedication.

Fred Benford, for all your communicating efforts through the many e-mails you sent promoting our reunion.  And, for your part in the class program. Thank you for your continued support helping pull our classmates all together.

Jo Russell, faithful to attend our many meetings driving from Oklahoma City . Thank you taking on the big task of putting the program together.  We appreciate you, Dick Manley, and Sue Livesay Venable who presented it so successfully.  The many hours and the concentrated effort that had to have taken.

Fred Boyd, thank you for taking on the responsibility of the Golf Tournament with such determination and making it happen.  And, for being such a good sport as our “Class Money Man” in the Comedy Fashion Show.

Dick Gable, thank you for taking charge of communicating with the hotel, making sure that all the necessary arrangements were made for our classmates.  And, for being such a good sport modeling that black and white checkered dress.  That was a brave thing to do.  Thank you.

Paul Edwards, who attended our initial kickoff planning meetings, and was so kind to do the research into various  hotels.  Sorry you were unable to make the reunion.  You were missed.

Marilyn Gilmer, thank you for taking so many pictures of meetings and the golf tournament. You did a great job narrating the fashion show and helping with the program. And, you were always available to help when we needed you.

Ed, and Susan Wheeler, thank you both for attending our meetings, taking charge of the preparation of food for the Friday Night Social.  You both should be commended. And, Ed, what an inspirational presentation for “Constitution Day.”

Sue Bertem, Diane Martin Mounts, Carol Sue Manley, Gretchen Hotz, and Janie Tinsley for modeling in the Comedy Fashion Show.  Thank you, you all were great!

Homer Hopper, for attending meetings, bringing food, and sharing your talent in our program. And, doing right by your pregnant bride in the Comedy Fashion Show.

Carolyn Eads, for attending meetings, taking part in “ Walking Down Memory Lane .”  You and Jo were great.  And, thank you and Martha Bellah Craner for making class name tags.

Ernie Haley, who finally explained what we had often wondered about, what did bagpipers wear under those skirts?  We found out in his bagpipe presentation.  Ernie is quite an accomplished classmate.  Thank you Ernie.

Donna Lane , decorated our ballroom with colors of red, white, and blue, making our Class Reunion fitting for “Constitution Day” on September 17th.  It was beautiful.  Thank you.

Sherry Adams Clark, and Ardis Arnold Manning, thank you for helping with all the registration duties.

Allen Keenan, who, in a very sly way maneuvered me into Chairing the 55th Class Reunion.  He knew very well what he was doing.  He attended a few of our meetings, and I suspect to see if we were meeting his expectations. Thank you Allen.

And, last but not least, Dick Wisher, who is my strength, and is always there to help me out.  He provided us with our props, sound system, moved equipment, cleaned up after the party, and provided us with food and drink on many occasions.

Many thanks to the classmates who stayed over to help with the clean-up.

Most of all, the relaxed atmosphere seemed to be a reflection of the committee's camaraderie. Fifteen months of work rewarded.

Again, I, and so many others had an absolutely wonderful weekend and thank you all for your dedication to our amazing 55th CHS reunion.

Thank you, classmates for attending.

See you at the 60th Class Reunion.

Warm regards,

Aline Wisher - Chairman

Jacqueline Wilson – Co-Chairman
