Pete Rowland

Pete says his best days were in the 5th and 6th grades at Riverview Elementary and when he was recommended for participation in Basketball and Football programs at Central while he was attending Horace Mann Junior High School. He didn't go out for football but did go out for basketball and was on the B-team until he broke his right arm and left the program.

As a mover and shaker he dated Marilyn Miller , Karen Baldwin , Lauane Fagg and after graduation, Judy Irons (above) who he married in 1958.  Immediately after graduation he went to work for Sunray Oil (DX) and spent five years in Tulsa then moved to Midland and Snyder , Texas .   In 1961 he joined Gulf Oil in Tulsa but only worked with them for forty years!  Positions ranged from Accounting, Salesman, and Office Manager.

Pete and Judy have two boys, one an attorney in Tulsa and the other a District Manager with Lowes .  Judy and Pete were divorced in 1974 and she passed away in 1994.  Pete remarried a beauty from Canton , OH , who he met in church in 1975 where she was an organist and they are still happily married over 28 years later!  Mary Lou has two daughters from a previous marriage and they have been blessed with five super grandchildren.

Retirement came in 1996 living on two acres in a Houston suburb.  He says afflictions brought on by old age limit his recreational activities to reading, managing investments and taking care of two acres of property.  He still plays the guitar which he has been learning to play for the past 50+ years.  His arthritic problems prohibit him from his love of dancing.  And there are those multiple surgeries … some twice … on back, shoulder, eyes and both hands.

Pete is a mover.  Tulsa , Midland , Snyder , Ft. Smith ,
Houston back to Tulsa , San Antonio .   He was part of the Air Force Reserve from 1959 to 1965.  This was during the Cuban Missile crisis and he is thankful that he was not called up for active duty.

His first kiss?  Jane McGuire in the sixth grade.  He has not heard from her since (did you scare her off Pete ?)  Pete would love to attend the 50th, but is not
sure if he can.  We hope you can Pete and look forward to seeing you!
