Sally Plumer (Moore)

Sally Plumer – Cowgirl extraordinaire.  Lived on several ranches in Texas and Wyoming and now lives in a small town in Idaho near Boise .  Sally and her husband, Rodney , have been in Idaho since 1964.   Not bad for a super-popular beauty at CHS who was an officer in Speakers Bureau and President of Emanon and a Chi Omega at OSU graduating with a degree in Child Development.  Now a cowgirl???  Actually most of the range-riding was done in the cookhouse.  There were three babies to tend.

Sally says she has amazing memories of CHS.  She only attended our 40th reunion and hopefully will be able to attend our 50th (do they have airplanes in Idaho ?).  She said she was fascinated by the aging process – familiar personalities in somewhat different bodies (I am not as fat as I look Sally !).  But like all of us was disappointed that many she hoped to see did not attend.

Her most fun times were in Speakers Bureau and her worst times getting through the day with stringy hair after a first period swimming class (yes, Sally many were still commenting about your stringy CHS hair at the 45th reunion).  She feels awed by the great variety of educational and enrichment opportunities we enjoyed at CHS.  Students today are really shortchanged by those standards she says.   Sally ought to know … she taught in her own private preschool for 25 years.   She said this was more fun than work (running a preschool is not work???) and left time to be a “Swim Team Mom.”  She said those two boys and a girl grew up to be really great adults and have given her and Rodney three exceptional grandsons (aren’t all grandkids exceptional?).

Sally is now retired. Rodney has been employed more recently as an Ag Investment advisor and manages farms in the Northwest and hopes to retire in a year or so. They have had the time to build and decorate two homes (one in the mountains … will you invite us to McCall, Sally ?)  She now does tutoring, quilting (learned while ranching), belongs to several clubs and is Clerk of Session at her Presbyterian church (big job).

She went steady with Ed Wheeler (that’s National Guard General Ed Wheeler ) at CHS.  However her first kiss was with her husband at the wedding. Really??? Let’s ask Ed Wheeler about this!  She and Ed were steadies at CHS.
