Tenth Planning Meeting

Jacqueline Wilson hosted our June 14th meeting.  We all enjoyed dinner along with visiting with our classmates. 

Fred Boyd gave the status of the golf tournament.  Currently, we have 15 potential golfers.  Requirements are twenty-four entries.  Jerry Tinsley contacted Fred with the possibility of getting eight additional golfers to enter the tournament.  Fred stated, if the required number of twenty-four was not reached by August 10th, the tournament will be canceled.  If you have not registered for the golf tournament, please do so as soon as possible.

Jacqueline Wilson reported that she had received sixty-nine registrations from classmates to date.  Marilyn Gilmer mentioned that in former reunions; we always have classmates who attend without reservations.  We encourage all of you to call your former classmates and ask them to attend in case we have missed sending them an invitation.  We had 29 registrations forms returned due to incorrect addresses.

Jo Russell discussed plans for the Saturday program for the class reunion.  Dick Manley, Fred Benford and Paul Edwards will participate.  Gretchen Ross Hotz will provide our piano music.  Jo stated she’s looking for instrumentalists, quartets, and vocalist.  If any classmates would be willing to help out, please give Jo a call at 405-842-2411.  Homer Hopper was kind enough to offer his musical and vocal talent for the program.


Aline Wisher stated that there would be rehearsal time scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Elk Lodge.  

Ed Wheeler wanted to make sure there’s plenty of time allowed for fellowship with all our classmates.  He was assured this reunion was planned to be casual, informal, and simple.  There will be a Friday night hospitality room at the hotel, and Saturday will be ample time to visit after the noon program and on into the night.

Allen Keenan stated he would be bringing his brother’s 1928 Roadster for display at the Elks on Saturday.  Everyone thought it would be fun to include a car show with the event and invite classmates who may have a car they would like to display.
