Our classmates met to discuss and plan the 55^th Class Reunion .  The date and place was established as September 17, 2011 , at the Tulsa Elks Lodge located at 5335 South Harvard.  It was decided to rent the whole Lodge at a one day rate of $1200.00.  This includes a large ballroom, stage, sound equipment, dining room and a lounge area.  Catering is also available.  A $300.00 deposit is required to reserve the date.

Paul Edwards will research hotel accommodations, including rates, shuttles, and locations for our out of town classmates.  

Class Program Chair: Joniel Russell will set up the class program.

Entertainment Chairs: Ginny Roberts, Jacqueline Wilson, Joniel Russell, Sue Venable, and Carolyn McGee.

Food suggestions for Saturday lunch and dinner:  Lunch – Coney’s, Root Beer, and perhaps a Taco Bar.  Dinner – BBQ – Fish Fry.  All agreed to keep the food simple, fun, and all day should be casual.  There will be more discussion regarding food at a later date.

Ginny Roberts suggested we contact Sonny Gray for Saturday night music.  Sonny Gray’s charge for 5 piece band is $850.00.  Luigi’s name was suggested for entertainment.  He charges $100.00 and is very popular around Tulsa .

Decorating Committee: Sue Bertrem will assist others but will not take the Chair.  We need volunteers to help decorate.

Allen Keenan stated we should keep the one day reunion at $56.00 per person and should we need additional funding, we could go to other resources.  He also stated we make sure Dick Rapier receives class information in order it be put on the Website.

Everyone was in agreement to keep our 55^th Class Reunion casual and simple with hope that doing so may increase our attendance.

Aline Wisher reported we have approximately 856 remaining classmates.  Allen Keenan reported 375 classmates were in attendance at our 50^th Reunion .

Aline Wisher asked that classmates come up with a catchy phrase for our 55^th Reunion .

Class mates enjoyed called in pizza, and wonderful homemade food.  It was really nice to see each other again, and some of us met for the first time and made new friends.  We had to adjourn the meeting fairly early for those who are use to going to bed at 5:00 p.m.   Classmates really appreciate Jacqueline Wilson for sharing her beautiful home for our meeting place.

The next meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 16^th, 4:00 p.m.
