Spring is here, and what a beautiful lake setting we all enjoyed while attending our CHS Class Reunion planning meeting.

We were impressed that Paul Edward flew into Tulsa from Towson , Maryland to attend our meeting before he continued on to his next designation to go skiing.   And, another surprise, Ed Wheeler also took time away from his busy schedule to attend our meeting.  Jo Russell drives from Oklahoma City and has been able to make most all meetings.

Following a delicious lunch, Aline shared information provided to her from Dick Rapier regarding the status of the Tulsa Central Web Site. (http://www.tulsacentral1956.com)  It is fully up to date, all biographies are on with the exception of Dick Gables’, and that will be corrected.

The web site has grown to become quite large these days, it now has 1,630 hyperlinks, 601 pictures and is 57 MB in size.  Dick now has music playing on every page except for the Tom Tom page.

All data that was provided for the prior 2011 reunion planning meeting is up and new tabs have been begun so as to provide information on what classmates have done with respect to:

bulletBooks they have written
bulletExamples of Art work they have done
bulletAthletic achievements
bulletMilitary service
bulletTheir families

Dick needs data from people so that can be posted on those pages.  As you will see, there is only information on Ed Wheeler’s book.  Aline said, she saw on the web where Ed had written a book and already ordered it.

There is already a place on the web site for classmates to go to read the CHS newsletters.

Dick also posted the registration form so that if classmates forget, they can simply download the form to their computer and print it.

A summary on the database:

Total number of classmates on our list is 1,020

Total data cells in master data base is 18,360

Total on list for whom we have their e-mail - 344

Total on list for whom we have telephone #s 535

Total for whom we don’t know how to contact - 71

    Total deceased – 179.

Though 17.5% of our friends have passed away, note that the pace is very substantially less than it was in 2006-8 when they were reported several times a week.

Dick also mentioned he now had the web site home page and the Tom Tom page linked to an extraordinary large number of the social media sites.

For classmates who want to link our web site, they now can do that on 334 different social media platforms.

Aline reported that Dick Rapier would be in Tulsa the week of April 4 – 9th, and that we would schedule our next meeting on Thursday, April 7, 6:00 p.m.  Carolyn Eads offered her home for our next meeting place since Jacqueline Wilson will be in Australia on vacation.  Jo Foster mentioned she would not be able to attend the next meeting due to another commitment.
Carolyn’s address is 7751 S. Erie Ave., and her telephone number is
918-481-3347.

Classmates spent the remaining afternoon working on the Registration form mail outs for classmates who do not have e-mail addresses.

Classmates discussed their interests and how they were passing their time as they sat around the tables.  We found that not only Ed Wheeler had written a book, but Paul Edward had written one also.  Ed and Paul found they both had a lot of common interest as they discussed America ’s history.

Aline asked that everyone go into the Website to see how impressive it is and see all the hard work that Dick had put into it.

Respectfully submitted,
