Minutes
I.          Welcome – Allen Keenan

Our chairman welcomed us to the noon meeting at Johnnie’s, 51st & Harvard.  He especially appreciated the presence of newcomers Gretchen Hotz Ross, Bob Searcy,
Sue Livesay Venable and Ed Wheeler.  Others attending were Fred Boyd, Gretchen Morris Cailloux, Alice Fellers Laster, Carolyn Eads McGee, Joniel Foster Russell, Tom Summers and Jacqueline Slagle Wilson.

Allen announced that we were 1 year and 4 months away from our 50th celebration!
He reviewed the new committee structure:

II.     Minutes – Joniel Russell

The minutes for the February 8, 2005 meeting were approved as e-mailed to all    committee members.

III.    Treasurer’s Report – Jacqueline Wilson

Jacqueline reported one expenditure of $399.00 for 2 years for our new website host,
which leaves a balance of $11,404.03.

IV.   Sub-Committee Reports – Allen Keenan

·     Fundraising
Chris Seger has indicated that the Solicitation Letter sent out by himself and Bill
Bruckner raised $5,000 in just the first week, which is an excellent start on their goal of $20,000.

·         State of the Class
Barry Epperson has undergone a knee replacement and we have lost another class-mate, Alayne Bolian Anderson

·         Venue
Fred Boyd reported that things are on track.  The Doubletree Hotel at Warren Place
is currently being refurbished; hotel officials assure us it will be completed before our reunion dates.

·         Decorations, Food and Registration
Marilyn Gilmer displayed items from reunion for the CHS Class of 1954 which can
serve as a starting point for our welcome packet, registration forms and newsletters.

·         Communications
Allen suggested that we explore the possibility of putting the Reunion Tom-Tom on
a CD rather than using a print format.  It was observed that video resolution can vary widely & that issue should be addressed before a commitment is made.

Ed Wheeler, who has agreed to serve as the new editor for the Newsletter, indicated that he would like to focus on “human interest” articles to entice classmates to want to attend the reunion. It was suggested that the Newsletter be published on our web site once a month to build further excitement.

V.   Old Business – None

VI.   New Business – Allen Keenan

·         Tentative Schedule
September 28, Thursday evening will be reserved for Junior High School gatherings.
September 29, Friday will feature golf & tennis tournaments at La Fortune Park in the morning, a Ladies Luncheon at noon and Dinner that night when Elementary and
Junior High School group pictures will be made.  September 30, Saturday will feature the Assembly and Memorial Service at the new Central High School with a final Gala Evening that night.  We are exploring the possibility of a bus tour around Tulsa to explore old hang out and new changes.

VII.   Round Table

·         Everyone examined the Class of ’54 items for ideas.  Greta Cailloux took some of them to explore costs.

·
The Assembly Committee of Carolyn McGee, Gretchen Ross, Joniel Russell and Sue
Venable will try to meet separately before the next general committee meeting.

·         It was suggested that some “senior” hoofers be recruited to perform a tap dance routine at the Assembly!

·         Comments were made that our “Class Statistics” should be updated to reflect the
current status of our class.  Perhaps a survey would yield useful information.

·         The committee would like to see a repeat performance by Bo Mapes in his classic
swing across the stage on a rope!

VIII.    Next Meeting Date

We will meet Thursday, June 9 at 6 P.M. at Allen Keenan’s home, 2743 S. Utica Ave.

Respectfully submitted,      Joniel Foster Russell
