I.
Welcome
            Chairman Allen Keenan welcomed all members to the last quarterly meeting this year.  He thanked Ron & Jacqueline Slagle Wilson for hosting this PotLuck Dinner in their home.

            In view of the recent deaths of committee members Paul Peterson & Lee Gideon, Allen suggested that all chairpersons should secure a "Back-Up Buddy" to perform their jobs in the event it is needed. He is especially concerned that he has no designated "back-up" person!

Allen announced that the next meeting of the C. H. S. Class of 1956 Breakfast Club would be Friday, December 12 at 8 A. M. at the Full Cup Café, 31st & Winston.  A private room is available for our group.

II.                Minutes
            Minutes were approved as e-mailed to committee members.

III.             Treasurer’s Report
           Jacqueline reported that no bills had been presented to her.  Thus, the account balance remains at $11,974.17.

IV.              Newsletter
            Allen reported for Tom Summers & he asked for someone to work with Tom. Joniel Foster Russell offered to help.  Clifford Cantrell expressed a desire for the return of “Scholarly Ned” in the next edition.

V.         State of the Class Report

            Allen reported for Dick Rapier & Dotty Westby.  They have settled on a total class membership of 1,052 (including some who did not graduate with us, but who want to be part of the reunion).  They have confirmed deaths for 106 or 10% of the class. Twenty percent, or 215, remain missing.  328, or 31%, have or have had e-mail addresses.

VI.       Development Committee Report
            Allen reported for co-chairs Bill Bruckner & Chris Seger.  They have identified 125 class members as potential donors of  $1,000 each.  Donors would form the roster of the “Comma Club.”  Allen expressed the hope that reunion committee members also will join.  Jacqueline observed that it would be terrific if enough money could be raised to allow us to set a reunion charge of only $19.56 per person!

VII.           Website Report
            Allen reported for Dick Rapier that the site is completely current with the class records maintained by himself & Dotty.  Probably only 50-70 changes have been
made since the last CD was mailed to committee members.  Any site changes must take into account the wide range of computer equipment & resolutions possessed by the 1,000 + potential viewers.  Changes must not cause problems when viewers go to the site.  He wants to reduce the time required to open our home page from the present 13 seconds.  In addition, our domain name of TulsaCentral1956 has been registered through 2006.

            Dick still would appreciate help.  This would enable the site to be updated more frequently, which is especially important as we seek to build enthusiasm for attending the
Reunion !

VIII.        Decorations, Food & Registration Committee Report
            Reservations for the
Reunion site have been made with the DoubleTree Hotel, Warren Place .  (The Renaissance Centre already was fully booked.) A detailed written analysis was presented.  The proposed schedule of events would include:
Thursday -  Registration & Hospitality Suite;
Friday – Ladies Luncheon & Evening Mixer;
Saturday – Morning Daze Assembly & Evening Dinner;
Sunday – Memorial
Service & Brunch.

The costs are based on 500 attendees at $165 per person. The breakdown is as follows:

Decorations, $10,000;
  Food, $68,865; and
  Registration,   $3,573.37
for a total of  $82,438.37.   It does not provide for music at any event.  The Decorations bid notes that a 10-15% increase in prices by 2006 could be anticipated.
            It also is likely that the Hospitality Suite will need to be open continuously unless a specific group event is taking place.
            Allen thanked Greta Ann Morris Cailloux, Marilyn Miller Gilmer & Jacqueline for their diligent work on this report.  It will be discussed in detail at the next meeting.

IX.              Roundtable Discussion
            It was suggested that time be left open on the Saturday schedule for elementary school/junior high meetings.
            A Memorial Service for deceased classmate could include a Roll Call & Lighting of Candles.  It was pointed out that statistically we could lose one class member every 18 days between now &
September 2006.
            Perhaps the Daze Assembly might include a taped appearance by Modell Phipps, aka the late Lee Gideon.
            Some feel we should continue communications by the postal service for those who want it in order to encourage their attendance.

X.                 Next Meeting Date
            Jacqueline again offered to host another PotLuck Supper in her home at 6410 E. 96th St.  The dinner meeting will be
Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at 6 P.M.   If the iron gate is closed, the entry code is # 1103.
            The meeting was adjourned at
8:15 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,
Joniel Foster Russell for Nanci Thomas Calderwood

REMEMBER:   The Reunion
is September 29 & 30, 2006 !!
