CHS 50th  REUNION PLANNING MEETING NOVEMBER 5, 2002

August 6, 2002 November 5, 2002 May 6, 2003 November 11, 2003 February 10, 2004 March 2004 June 8, 2004 August 10, 2004 November 9, 2004 May 13, 2005 June 9, 2005 October 20, 2005 November 10, 2005

Turn up your volume to hear the sounds of our days at Central!

The meeting was called to order by President Allen Keenan at 7:20 p.m.  Those attending were:  Tom Summers, Paul Peterson, Jacqueline Slagle Wilson, Lee Gideon, Bob Searcy, Fred Boyd, Greta Morris Cailloux and her husband John.

Minutes had two corrections.  Previous minutes name corrections were Marilyn Miller Gilmer and Alice Fellers Laster.  The minutes were approved.

The class of ’56 had 987 graduates.  Three hundred thirty-one have been located.  It was decided that we would go through the last reunion Tom Tom and divide up pages for people to call and confirm address and e-mails.

Paul Peterson is creating a website.  It was discussed that doing it on our own was certainly more cost effective and Paul has agreed to do it.  Paul knows of a local company E-Monarch  that will help us.  It will cost $300 per year or $25 per month.  There is also a $40 setup fee.  It was decided that this would be beneficial in getting  reunion information to lots of people.  Paul is spending lots of time and is doing a great job!  Thanks…

Tom Summers is in charge of the Newsletter.  Tom wrote the letter (Thanks Mr. S.)– Paul got it together and Jacqueline mailed it to her current e-mail list.  We received mailing labels from Dick Rapier in order to mail newsletter to those that do not have e-mail.  Dick Rapier and Dotty Westby are doing a fabulous job…Thank you two!!  The newsletter will be mailed out quarterly.  The format of the newsletter was approved.  It was decided that questions should be included in the newsletter regarding what people would like to participate or be interested in, golf, tennis, sporting events taking place in Tulsa also what part of town would people like to have events?  Downtown or out South?  We thought it would be fun to reserve the Brook Theater for one of the events.

It was discussed how to raise money for the reunion.  In 1996 it cost $175.00 per couple.  (Tote bags were suggested for the reunion for everyone to put “stuff” in.)

We talked about having a party at Jacqueline Wilson’s home in January.  Jacqueline and Nanci are in charge of the planning.

Please remember Alice Fellers Laster (chemo), Lee Gideon (surgery on leg) and Ed Wheeler (recovering from back surgery) in your thoughts and prayers.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
